I signed up for Netflix a couple days ago. Got my first two movies today -- The Holiday and Dune. (So I'm getting a little girlier these days but I still like my sci-fi.)
So tonight I curled up on the couch by myself in my sweatpants, with a nice raspberry ale, and watched the first one.
In the last two hours I've determined two very important things...
1. Despite the serious chick-flick rating, The Holiday isn't too bad of a bad movie.
And...
2. Jude Law is one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet.

Yea... Dune kinda sucks as a movie.
Three truths and a query:
1)No, you don't know me.
2)Yes, we do know someone in common (Mendel)
3)I really should be working on my proposal for tomorrow instead of bouncing off LJ links :)
So - which version of Dune was it?
(ie, original, directors cut, Sci-Fi mini?)
Hmm, still trying to figure out this commenting thing on Blogger....can I respond directly to someone?
Raj...
1) Somehow I knew you were from Mendel's world. I may know *of* you.
2) Um, yea.
3) How'd you find me?
...I believe it was the original Dune. After enduring that whole movie adventure, I couldn't attempt the super-extended-extra-scenes one no matter how hard Netflix trid to push it. And I just added the Sci-fi mini to my cue.
Drake - make sure to read Dune Messiah and Children of Dune before you rent the Sci-Fi Channel version.
